"PARALI WHERE TWO LOVERS(RIVERS) MATE"

Today when I went to Palakkad, I decided to go for a place where normally people never go as a tourist spot.I went to Parali, the place where Kalpathy merge with Kannadi to form Bharathapuzha river. The place was very romantic & so awesomely beautiful. You can see the merging of one river on another, marsh, coconut trees, birds. In addition to that, you can see the 'Abandoned British Tile Factory And The Oldest Bridge In Palakkad District' (Or Perhaps Kerala) from another new bridge.

This river was used for navigation & for transporting goods to Ponnani Port & to bring western goods to the City Of Palghat.

The bridge that you are seeing in the photo is the oldest and one of the most once beautiful bridges in Palakkad. It was constructed during the period of A.B. Robinson Collector Of Malabar in 1852 A.D. this bridge when see from certain angles, resembles Westminster Bridge Of London. When you observe it closely, it resemble Pont Marie Of Paris. Now Parli Old Bridge Of Palakkad is only used for pedestrians and cyclists. The bridge once one of the iconic symbols of the city is now going through its last stages. So sad.

I request Kerala Government & Citizens Of Palakkad to protect this bridge & river bank from destruction. We can build a 'River Promenade' From Parli North River Bank To Neglected Kalpathy River Park .And Another One From South Bank Of Parli River To Kannadi River Aqueduct Near Karingarapully.

                                                                                               GOODBYE THANX. SEE U.
