            Yesterday, after a couple of months ago I decided to stroll inside Tippu Sultan Fort. The photos of the fort and its government buildings with a backdrop of misty sky & greenery is one of the most nostalgic things you could experience in your lifetime. Enjoy this page with a hot sip of coffee or tea.(Highly Recommended) Iam guaranteeing my viewers, for a moment they will get transported through time in some South Indian hill stations or in the North Indian winter.



                                                        
                       "Classic White Matha Church In Sultanpet Beneath Beautiful Dark Clouds." This Classic Baroque Splendid You Are Witnessing Is The Oldest Roman Catholic Cathedral In Palakkad Built For Tamil Christians By The British With The Help Of Italian Bishops In 1861-63 Period. Although This Church Was Started As A Small One In 1768. It Is Only In The 19th Century This Was Built In Its Present Form.

This Is Known As Ramp, Used To Move The Cannons Of Tippu In The Tower To Blast The Hell Out Of The British & Zamorin Forces. Cannon Balls Are Stored In That Cylindrical Battery.For Each Tower There Are Two Batteries For Keeping The Cannon Balls.

            This Chimney Was Used To Give Smoke Signals To Hyder Ali's Army Men In The Maidan. 



Military Hospital (Estd.1790) Is A Badly Maintained Heritage Building Inside The Fort. 


           This Cute Building Was Built As Apothecary Quarters. Now It Is Used By The Jailer.


                                                                    



                                            Excellent View Of English Garden & The Assistant Apothecary's Quarters.



              This Beautiful Building Was Built By Tippu Sultan For Storing Weapons & Also Used As A Granary Till The Permanent Evacuation Day In The Year 1784. After The Official Signing Of Treaty Of SriRangapattanam In 1790, By Tippu Sultan The Entire Malabar Was Transfered To The Hands Of Colonel Fullerton & Commander Wood Of British East India Company.



Armour & Granary Building Has Been Recently Cleaned & Restored For Good.




            From 1860's Onwards, The Cantonment Inside The Fort Got Shifted To Cannanore.(Kannur)             This Building Become The Chief Granary For The Municipality Of Palghat. 
                                                             

    Charming Fort Museum Building Once Housed The Head Quarters For The Palakkad Fort Police.
