Victoria Public Hall Was Built In 1887 To Honour Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee Celebrations.Though Indo-Saracenic Influence Can Be Seen In This Building, The Tower Was Built In Victorian Gothic Style. This Is One Of The Most Beautiful Least Mentioned Buildings In Chennai. Location : Park Town Opposite Central Station.

That Beautiful Classic Old Building Was Loosely Modeled On Golden Temple's White Building In Amritsar.If Any One Could Mention The Name Of This Building, It Will Be Very Helpful For Me. Thank You. 

                        This Amazing Tiger Mouth Carved Cannon Of Tippu Sulthan Was Seized From
    Sri Ranga Pattanam After The Final War Of Mysore Against The British In 1800 A.D.

This Cannon Was Seized by British On Their War With Danish Forces @ Tharangambadi In The Year 1845. Location : Egmore Museum, Chennai City.

                      Another Cannon Took By Admiral Draper Of British Navy By Defeating Spanish          Forces In The Year 1762 @ Manilla, Philippines.

This Museum Is 2nd Oldest In Asia(After Indian Museum, Kolkata) & Contains One Of The Largest Collection Of Natural History Specimens.Ancient Gupta Period Coins, Sculptures,Chola Period Bronze Statues, Pallava Period Stone Sculptures, Hoysala Dynasty Wood Works, Carvings, Kalinga Period temple Relics & Much More.If You Want To Explore This Place atleast Allow Some 4 Hrs To Enjoy. This Place Is Really Worth For The Money.

If Any Of You Think That This Is An Old Palace From Delhi Or Jaipur, Well You Are Mistaken. This Marvelous Classic Palace Like Building Is Where National Art Gallery Of Egmore Is Situated. Designed By Henry Irwin & Built By Namberumal Chettiar In The Year 1907, Is The Only Such Building In Chennai Made In Rajput - Mughal Architectural Styles.

Because Of The Constructions Prevailing Inside The Gallery, We Were Not Able To Watch Great Raja Ravi Varma's Original Paintings. So Sad.

Mylapore Sree Kapaleeshwara Temple Is A Must See MasterPiece.Thousands Of Devotees Come To This Temple, Not Only For Worship But Also To Watch These Imposing Sculptures Carved On The Gopuram. First Kapaleeshwara Temple Dedicated To Lord Shiva, Was Made By Pallavas In 7th Century A.D On The Shores Of Bay Of Bengal, Where Santhome Cathedral Built By Portuguese Stands Now.After The Fall Of Portuguese Telugu Nayagars Took Control Of This Area.Then Later This Temple Was Built Again.(350 Years Ago.)

HSBC Building Is Built On Italian Neo Classical Architecture In Early 20th Century.

This Beautiful Palace Like Building For a Bank Was A Luxury On The Days Of British Raj Period. SBI Bank Was Started As Imperial Bank Of India In The Year 1680 From A Building Inside Fort Saint George. Later In 1890 Namberummal Chetty Designed A Huge Palace Like Indo -Saracenic Building For This Bank.After India's Independence This Bank Came To Be Known As State Bank Of India. It Is Located On Rajaji Salai, George Town.

        Fort Saint George Is The Oldest British Fort Ever Made In Asia.(1640-1720's)It is Also One Of The Most Beautiful, Charming, Well-Maintained And Most Importantly This Is The Only Fort In The Country, Where A Legislative Assembly Of A State Functions.Whole TamilNadu's Political Decisions & Laws Are Been Made Here.This Fort Is Not A Proper Fort.Looks More Like A Palace Like Building & Consists Lot Of Small Mansion Like Customs House,(Fort Museum) Robert Clive House, St.Mary's Church, Armoury, WareHouse Etc Are Functioning Properly.There Is A FlagPole Where Indian Flag Is Hoisted On Independece & Republic Days.It Holds The Record For The Highest FlagPole In India.In Olden Days, A Munsif Court,Mint,Press & Jail Was Situated Inside The Fort.Later All Of  These Got Shifted Outside The Defence Walls Of The Fort.There Is A Rumour Of An UnderGround Tunnel To Reach The Sea Port.

Fort Saint George Was On My List.But Due To Some Time Problems I Couldn't Able To Go Inside The Compound. But Any Chennai Trip Is InComplete Without Mentioning Fort St.George.That's Why Iam Writing About It. 

    Clive House Is Where Sir Robert Clive 'Champion Of Battle Of Plassey' Lived  As Accountant. 

Customs House Now Renamed As Fort Museum Was Originally Built For Sailors,Merchants.

Lovely Looking Senate House, Madras University Built In The Year 1857, Was Constructed After The First War Of Indian Independence. (There Were Many Revolts Held In Southern India Even Before That.) This Is One Of The Oldest Universities In India, And Seen As A Symbol Of Changing British Attitude To Indians In The Coming Years.

This Was The Place From Where Swami Vivekananda Stayed Before Starting His Tour Of Southern India & SriLanka.Now This Lodge Is Converted To An Auto Biographical Museum Of Swamiji. Location: Beach Road, Triplicane.
